Dr. Olufunto Badmus, instructor, received the Steven M. Horvath Professional Opportunity Award and the WEH Trainee Award & Data Diuresis Presenter Award at the 2023 APS Summit.
Dr. John Clemmer, assistant professor, received the Arthur C. Guyton Award for Excellence in Integrative Physiology and Medicine at the 2023 APS Summit.
This award named in honor of Dr. Arthur C. Guyton, first chair of the department of physiology and biophysics at UMMC, recognizes an early career investigator who is pursuing research that utilizes quantitative and integrative approaches and feedback control system theory for the study of physiological functions.
Jordan Mallette, PhD student, received second place in the APS Summit 2023, Water and Electrolyte Homeostasis Section Trainee Poster Competition, titled 17-beta-estradiol is associated with increased cardiovascular risk in the castrated male rat.

Dr. Ana Omoto, instructor, received the Martin Frank Diversity Travel award at the 2023 APS Summit. She also was awarded the 2023 Postdoctoral Fellow Research Award from the School of Graduate Studies in the Health Sciences.
